Why Nicaragua is a great place for your Destination Wedding!
Written by Alex Motta
Nicole and I came to Nicaragua last year for a holiday. We had had many friends visit the country, some of whom have even decided to make it their home. They loved it so much that it encouraged us to come and visit as well.
Like them, we too fell in love with the Nicaraguan landscapes and the unique sights it has to offer. Shortly after having tested out the waters during a 2 month tour of the country we made plans to return.
But first a little bit about us.
We are from Melbourne Australia but both have Italian parents. I started my photography business in 2008 and have been working as a professional ever since. I absolutely love what I do. Wedding photography for me is a joy because it enables me to be creative while sharing in one of the best days of peoples lives. The food, the surroundings, the emotions and there I am in the middle of it all with the chance to capture the moments people will remember and share for years to come.
So fast forward to 2016. We are now based between Melbourne and Nicaragua. We absolutely love it here! There are so many charming places for weddings and some truly amazing venues. My favorite spots are in southern Nicaragua on the Pacific Coastline, San Juan Del Sur and Rivas. But other great locales are the alluring Caribbean Corn Islands or the lush cloud forest resort Selva Negra, in the mountains of Matagalpa. With so many beautiful places and venues to choose from, Nicaragua is the ideal location for a destination wedding.
I have put together my top 3 reasons why you should have a destination wedding in Nicaragua
- With beautiful beaches and exotic landscapes it is a truly unique place
- A great destination for your guests to get away and experience something different
- Getting married in Nicaragua can be a less expensive option than getting married back home
Here are some photos that where taken at Rancho Santana, a destination wedding venue in Rivas that may entice you:
I shot this wedding along with Francesco of Visione Films who beautifully captured the day, you can view the full film on Vimeo
